What is a reasonably straightforward process to update a MAME folder/system inside of a Maximus or Launchpad environment? How does a MAME distro work? Is there an MSI installer, or would I just be grabbing a new MAME folder from a MAME dev/mirror site? And then… we’d have to find/download the ROMs (ROM set) that work with that newer MAME distro? That sounds like a nightmare, unless the matching ROM sets can be located via Google etc. Ryan Holtz updated the netlist library: Added simple ROM hookup capability. (Defender and Stargate are almost unplayable on my system… seriously, who the hell can use the tank stick and 6 buttons all simultaneously? I’m not a fucking octopus.)Īnyway, my came with my cabinet. MAME 0.181 was released on 28 December 2016. However, I’m using an old version of MAME (v0.167 from November, 2015) and the new versions of MAME have awesome scripting capabilities that I really want to use.
